We are located just outside of Dallas, Texas. You can literally choose the lifestyle your prefer. Live downtown Dallas Deep Ellum in a loft for the city life and commute to the studio; buy a brick mansion a few blocks away from the studio and walk to work! We are surrounded by great suburbs if you prefer that lifestyle with great school systems. There are 2 lakes within 4 miles of the studio for those who love life on the water. Also.. THERE'S NO STATE INCOME TAX IN TEXAS!!! Yes. You read that properly.

ALREADY BEEN CHEWED MAYA/UNREAL ENGINE ARTIST

Already Been Chewed was founded over 13 years ago by digital artist and motion designer, Barton Damer. He is an award winning artist whose work has been featured in galleries - both in London and Berlin. In order to meet the demands for creative services from some of the most iconic brands in the world, he has built a creative studio that continues to push themselves as artists while remaining strategic, purposeful and effective.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Maya/Unreal Engine Artist role at Already Been Chewed will consist of creating and optimizing character animation for production. This role will require expertise in rigging and animation so that our characters can become balanced in aesthetics and technical requirements of assets within Unreal Engine, or other offline renderers. Our goal is to create amazing immersive worlds for our characters and to quickly realize creative strategies, concepts, and high end content that matches our high standards of our past offline renderings and projects.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Character rigging

  • Character animation

  • Motion capture cleanup / enhancement

  • Asset creation for real time rendering

  • Look Dev in Unreal Engine

  • Optimizing / memory management for real time rendering

  • Communication within production pipeline to other team members

  • Exporting high quality animation into Unreal Engine

  • High quality rendering in Unreal Engine

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering

  • Knowledge of animation within Unreal Engine - Control Rig, Sequencer, Animation Blueprints

  • Basic knowledge of blueprints and scripting

  • Work well with others in a team environment in the studio or remote

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions
